Our PWP’s will receive specific training within occupational health so that combined with their experience they can offer detailed and evidence-based assessment of low level mental health conditions such as stress, anxiety and depression and offer advice regarding fitness for work. They will also provide face to face, telephone, video and group interventions to clients with common mental health conditions.
This role will be a combination of remote and on site working with your base being in Aldermaston, Berkshire. This role involves providing
-Mental Health Based Occupational Health Assessments with reports (training provided)
-IAPT based treatment assessments
-Step 2 interventions (Face to face and remote)
-In house training on common mental health problems for the wider company
-Working closely with a team of other clinical specialities such as Occupational Health Nurses, Technicians, Paramedics, Physiotherapists and Occupational Health Physicians.
You will receive weekly case management supervision from an accredited PWP supervisor and monthly clinical skills supervision with a team of experienced and engaged PWP’s.
Skills and Experience:
-To have undertaken the `Post Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy` course and be fully qualified as a PWP
-Additional therapy qualifications would be beneficial in areas such as Mindfulness, ACT, Counselling.
-Minimum of 18 months post qualification experience working as a PWP
-Able to achieve clinical outcomes and meet agreed performance targets
-Ability to manage own caseload and time
-Demonstrate high standards verbal communication including completing telephone and video consultations
-Demonstrate high standards of written communication with attention to grammar, spelling, language and punctuation
-Able to develop effective therapeutic relationships with clients
-In depth knowledge of anxiety disorders and depression and how they can be supported by evidence-based interventions
-Demonstrate a knowledge of the issues surrounding worklessness and mental health
-Be work focused in your approach and acknowledge work is good for mental health
-Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively
-Ability to be self-reflective of practice and in personal and professional development and in supervision
-Knowledge of medication commonly used in anxiety, depression and other mental health problems
-Ability to think creatively and be flexible in terms of treatments offered
-Awareness of other more complex mental health problems
Because the role involves working on one of the UK’s highest security sites, to apply you will need to be a British National or have dual nationality and have resided in the UK for the past 10 years. You will also need to live within 1 hour of the RG7 postcode area
Successful candidates will need Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance. Security clearance is carried out by uksv- an independent organisation.
