TP Launch Covid-19 Rehabilitation Service at UHNM

Supporting NHS Trusts and their employees has always been close to our heart ever since we started our business in 2006. It is for this reason TP Health are delighted to announce the successful launch of a specialist Covid-19 rehabilitation service at the University Hospitals of North Midlands, supporting Trust employees suffering from the effects of ‘Long Covid’.

Intense pressures on the NHS are being exacerbated by the condition affecting at least 122,000 colleagues. Recent data suggests that 1 in 10 people within the UK suffering from the effects of Long Covid work within our healthcare service.

The 6-week programme will provide both mental and physical health support to the worst affected NHS workers, giving them the support they deserve to restore functional capacity and improve their mental health in order to return to work and full function.

Participants will benefit from evidence-based CBT psychoeducation, mindfulness-based relaxation exercises and a functional and pulmonary rehabilitation exercise class.

Trust staff will also receive information sheets, podcasts, webinars, a bespoke home exercise programme, as well as a weekly 1:1 consultation with one of our clinicians to discuss any concerns, return to work implications and monitor progress.

Our tailored package allows us to best support our NHS partners, ensuring that they adhere to the recent NICE guidelines (NG188) on managing the long-term effects of Covid-19, as well as improving the recovery of critical workers in a time of unprecedented demand.
