Spencer Bruerne Cricket Club: Back In Full Swing
It’s safe to say the last year knocked us all for six, but as the days get brighter and the weather improves, we think it’s time we get back on the cricket pitch.
With the start of the 2021 season just underway, our local Northampton-based cricket club, Spencer Bruerne, are gearing up for a boundary-pushing return to the league. TP Health’s recent sponsorship has supported the club in the purchase of a new kit for the Social Sunday and junior teams, as well as the Senior XI and 2nd XI sides who compete within the largest league in the country.
Despite the cancellation of the 2020 season, it seems the cricket is far from over. Now lockdown is coming to an end, Spencer Bruerne, located on Rookery Lane (NN12 7SJ), are on the lookout for new player of all ages and abilities. So, please feel free to pop in any Friday evening from 5 pm to meet the team.
Both adult and junior training sessions have started, and SBCC is encouraging local kids within the community to get involved with the popular soft-ball cricket sessions every Friday at 6 pm.
Cricket is a great way to get out in the fresh air and stay in shape across the spring and summer months. Spectators can also enjoy a drink from the bar in a socially distanced environment. We hope you’ll join TP Health in wishing Spencer Bruerne Cricket Club the best of luck for the upcoming season, and we hope to see you out there!
