National Reserves Day
Yesterday, we celebrated National Reserves Day as part of Armed Forces Week. To celebrate and raise awareness, we ran a competition for the Best Dressed Desk (and Mobile Screening Unit). It was great to see plenty of people getting involved, including some of our military and ex-military personnel. We loved the dedication and the creativity!
The celebration was one of the commitments listed in our pledge to the Armed Forces Covenant, which TP Health recently signed. The pledge pushes us to do more to recognise and support those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, ensuring they are treated fairly. This is just one among many ways TP Health are striving to add benefit to the community, including our own TP Health culture.
We are proud to be a forces-friendly employer, recognising and appreciating the effective skillsets earned by such previous employment.
One of our own employees reached out to us with a touching email detailing their work, life and skills earned as an Army Reservist. From learning to ski in Italy to participating in Nijmegen Marches in Holland and much more in between, retiring “as a Major with many fond memories, achievements and skills, friends, and wonderful life experiences gained including friendships, working as a team, comradeships, organisational skills, survival skills, discipline, and most of all I had lots of laughter, shed tears and proud to of been part of The Military.”
Such skills, experience and teamwork, are pivotal to our success here at TP Health, helping us to build a thriving workplace culture that benefits all of us.
